What is Family Ballroom?
Family Ballroom is an online ballroom dance program for Christian homeschool families. It is a fun, low-pressure way for families to move, laugh, and connect together through music and movement while earning PE and Fine Arts credits.
No experience required. No perfection expected.
We believe every family should know how to dance.
Not because you'll become professionals.
Because someday there will be...
• weddings
• daddy-daughter dances
• church banquets
• proms
• cruises
• anniversaries
• celebrations
…and you'll know exactly what to do.

Meet Amy
I loved dancing after high school and throughout college. I got hired as a ballroom dance instructor in my early 20’s and spent years doing what I loved. I was told I could either compete in ballroom or start a family, but not both. I gave up the dream of dancing to start a family. There were many years I hardly saw the dance floor in the throws of motherhood and ministry. Now, after shifting to homeschool and seeing education in a different light, I want to blend the beauty of family, and my teaching experience to give homeschool kids a chance to gain confidence on the dance floor.

We are a Christian homeschool family of 8! Find out more about us in our Membership site.
-
We’ll take the pressure off and turn up the fun! Just create some space to move and we’ll gently guide you step by step into various moves and styles and etiquette in social dances.
-
Our goal is to get you feeling confident on the dance floor, recognizing different styles/beats and know what to do with it! We’ve seen all types of people grow from the awkward beginnings to really taking charge and falling in love with dance! Join us!
-
Absolutely! If you can count to 8 and know the difference between left and right, you can do this!
-
Not really. Most of the dances are performed “in place” rather than “traveling.” For most families, not much space is needed to learn these moves. However, if you have an exceptionally large family and smaller space, you may need to move furniture!
-
We recommend dancers 7 years and older. We have our 4 year old learning with older siblings, so we encourage young children to follow along.

Absolutely! We understand not every dad is ready to shred the dance floor willingly. However, we’ve never seen a dad refuse to dance with his daughter. Check out the Daddy+Daughter Mini-Series and how that builds confidence with Dad. It may just be the encouragement he needs to get started!
-
Our lessons are intentionally short (5-10 minutes each) Brief lessons encourage longevity and give space to practice on your own.
-
Once a month, we’ll meet for a 30 minute live call to cover any questions you may have with the current dance. Live calls are recorded to refer back to! We encourage all our students to jump on!
